After World War I, upon the peace negotiations in France over the future of Lebanon, Bishop Abdallah Khoury was delegated by the Maronite Patriarch, Elias Howayek, to head the third Lebanese delegation to Paris. Bishop Khoury was also delegated for this national mission by the Administrative Board of Mount Lebanon. The mission was to conclude the negotiations over Lebanon’s rights and independence. Bishop Khoury spent eight months outside Lebanon on this mission (FebruarySeptember 1920). He wrote hundreds of letters, presented many reports, and held a number of meetings. The major events of this period were recorded in his original handwritten diary, entitled “Mufakkira”. His Diary includes two appendices of documents and names. The review and preface of the book are by Mr. Sami Salameh.

بعد الحرب العالمية الأولى ، وابان مفاوضات السلام في فرنسا ، وبتكليف من البطريرك الماروني الياس الحويك ، وبتفويض من مجلس ادارة جبل لبنان ، ترأس المطران عبد الله خوري الوفد اللبناني الثالث الى باريس ، وذلك للمطالبة بضم المناطق المسلوخة عن لبنان واعلان استقلاله .  وقد أمضى المطران خوري ثمانية أشهر خارج لبنان في هذه المهمة (شباط – أيلول 1920 ) ، وكتب مئات الرسائل وقدم العديد من التقارير ، وعقد الكثير من الاجتماعات ، وسجل أهم أحداث تلك الحقبة في مفكرته وبخط يده .
