About the Author:

Gerald Butt is the author of several books on the Middle East. He was born and brought up in the Middle East and has spent nearly 40 years covering the region – as an award-winning BBC correspondent and as an analyst for a range of radio, television and print outlets. He now edits the weekly MENA Prospect. Butt – a life-long aviation enthusiast – lives between Nicosia and London.
