To prepare a future for humanity, courageous artists, musicians, poets, writers, film makers, designers and painters from both sides come together to convince politicians and doomful prophets” for Stéphan Hessel, yes, a future of brotherhood is possible. Danielle and Serge Negre show us what the pernicious mix of politics and religion has engendered, but also that there is a place for each and everyone in a just and free society, and these are the only conditions of a durable peace. Stéphane HESSEL is a French diplomat and activist. He fought with the resistance during the second world war and subsequently was deported to Buchenwald. He was secretary of the commission who drafted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at the UN. His comittment to a just and durable solution to the conflict in the Middle East led him to meet Serge Nègre who invited him to Labruguière for an exhibition and conference on Israel/Palestine. The publication of his book “Indignez-vous” contributed to the awakening of conscience in many countries. Stéphane is also a great lover of poetry.

Wassim Fahim ABDULLAH is a Palestinian. He is a veteran electronics and telecommunications engineer curious about all things and interested in creative people, hence his friendship with Serge. He has participated in diverse projects aiming to encourage the growth of multimedia and an information-based economy in the West Bank and Gaza. Mr. Abdullah established numerous TV and radio stations in Palestine. He is the liaison engineer for the International Broadcasting Bureau (Radio SAWA) in the Palestinian Territories. Mr. Abdullah also worked as an editor and a camera crew member with Visnews during the war in Lebanon and the siege of Beirut in 1982.

Danielle AUTHA NEGRE has been fascinated by Palestine from a young age. Before the June 1967 war she worked in Palestine as a nurse. She is a book and map lover, and has extensively researched the history of this troubled country, through written historical and archaeological documents and photographs. She has listened to the testimonies of her longstanding Palestinian friends in order to learn, understand and inform others.

Serge NEGRE, is a French photographer and founder of the Espace Photographique Arthur Batut. He is involved in research of 19th century photography, especially his forerunners who photographed the Middle East. He has participated in Polar expeditions with Dr. Jean-Louis Etienne, as a specialist in satellite communications, and kite aerial photography. He has been involved in the Middle East since 1972, first as a nurse for refugees in southern Lebanon and since then in Palestine. To this day he continues to deepen and enrich his knowledge of Palestinian society.

Son engagement responsable pour une solution juste et durable du conflit au Proche-Orient, l’amène à rencontrer Serge Nègre qui le conduit à Labruguière pour une exposition et conférence sur Israël/Palestine. La publication de son ouvrage intitulé “Indignez-vous!” a contribué à réveiller les consciences dans de nombreux pays. Stéphane est également un grand amoureux de la poésie.

Wassim Fahim ABDULLAH, Palestinien, est ingénieur en électronique et télécommunications. Curieux de tout il s’intéresse aussi aux créateurs, d’où son amitié avec Serge. Il a participé à de nombreux projets en Palestine pour le développement du multimédia et de l’économie informatique dans les Territoires Occupés et à Gaza. Il a aussi conçu plusieurs stations de radio en Palestine et est actuellement l’ingénieur responsable auprès du Bureau International des Radiodiffusions pour son pays. Wassim Abdullah a été aussi membre de l’équipe de reportage pour Visnews pendant la guerre du Liban et le siège de Beyrouth en 1982.

Danielle AUTHA NEGRE se passionne très tôt pour la Palestine/Israël où avant la Guerre de Juin 1967 elle exerce sa profession d’infirmière. Bibliophile et cartophile, elle recherche à travers les écrits des historiens, des archéologues mais aussi les images des photographes, à reconstituer l’histoire mouvementée de ce pays. Elle écoute les témoignages des Palestiniens et Palestiniennes ses amis de longue date, pour comprendre, apprendre et faire savoir.

Serge NEGRE, photographe français, fondateur de l’espace Photographique Arthur BATUT, contribue à la recherche photographique du 19e siècle, notamment sur les photographes précurseurs au Moyen-Orient. Spécialiste de l’aérophotographie par cerf-volant et des liaisons par satellite, il est engagé lors des expéditions polaires avec le Dr Jean-Louis Etienne. Il poursuit sa connaissance de la société palestinienne d’abord comme infirmier auprès des réfugiés au Sud Liban dès 1972, puis en Palestine.

صدر عن مؤسسة الدراسات الفلسطينية، الكتاب المصور، “من الأرض المقدسة إلى فلسطين“، بمجموع صفحات يبلغ 285 صفحة، هي عبارة عن صور وتعليقات عليها، بالانكليزية والفرنسية، ومقدمة وتعريف بالمشاركين من أصحاب الصور وجامعيها ومحرري الكتاب.

والكتاب ليس مجرد دليل مصور، فهو يعرض صوراً لفلسطين في القرن التاسع عشر مع صور حديثة؛ ما قبل النكبة وما بعدها.

يقول ستيفان هوسل في التمهيد، إن المصورين الذين قدموا إلى فلسطين في القرن التاسع عشر كانوا محملين بإثارة الحكاية الغربية عن الشرق وبالأبعاد الدينية، وقد أذهلتهم عندما عاينوا الأمر مباشرة آثار الحضارات المتعاقبة، ويشرح وسيم عبد الله في التمهيد  أيضاً أنه من هذا المنطلق صور الفرنسي فيليكس بونفيس (1831 – 1885) فلسطين، وقد كان يعرف الشرق، إذ كانت عائلته استقرت في لبنان وأسس فيه استديو تصوير. لكن لم يكن بونفيس مجرد مصور فوتوغرافي يصور الأماكن التي فتنته بجمالها وبما تحمل من تاريخ، فقد كان رحّالاً يتنقل في أرجاء الشرق الأوسط وينقل ما يشاهده خلال 30 سنة من عمله، في صور بالأسود والأبيض، لكنه ينقل أساساً الأبعاد الإنسانية للأمكنة وطبيعة الحياة التي كان يعيشها سكان فلسطين.

بعد نحو 150 عاماً يحمل مصور فوتوغرافي فرنسي آخر هو سيرج نيغر، المولود في سنة 1951، كاميراته وينقل عبرها الأبعاد الإنسانية في الصور التي يلتقطها، وهو أيضا رحّالاً أمضى سنوات يجول في دول المنطقة، وفي فلسطين خصوصاً، حاملاً 55 صورة أصلية كان صورها بونفيس، باحثاً عن الأمكنة الفلسطينية ذاتها لإعادة تصويرها كما هي الآن بناسها وليس فقط بحجارتها.

الصور القديمة، كما الحديثة، تجول بالقارئ – المشاهد، في أرجاء القدس العتيقة وخارج أسوار المدينة المقدسة وفي جنوب فلسطين والشريط الساحلي وشمال فلسطين.
