Born in Sana'a, the first capital of Yemen, in 1929, he was educated at Sana'a Schools where he was awarded a General Certificate of the Education Ministry. He served as a member of the Royal Diwan of His Majesty al-Imam Ahmad, King of Yemen, for 10 years. in 1956 he was elected a member of the Special Royal Secretariat. He has visited various European and African Countries His other books include Yemen Across History (in Arabic) and The Way to Commerce (in Arabic) which he wrote after passing the Internal Correspondent Examination of the British Tutorial College in London. He was awarded its certificate in bookkeeping in August, 1961. He has also written The Old Yemen Languages and al-Mosnad Writing which will appear in Arabic and English editions. The author is married and has four children.
